Picnicking and Pavilions

Rocks features three developed picnic areas: Hills Grove, Wilson's and Rock Ridge. These areas include tables, grills, restroom facilities and playground equipment. The Hills Grove and Wilson's areas are handicapped accessible. Pets are permitted in any of the picnic areas, but must remain on a leash while in the park. Horses are prohibited inside the picnic areas.

Hours of Operation: 9 a.m. to sunset, March-October, 10 a.m. to sunset, November-February

Service charge required: $3 per person Maryland resident, $5 per person out-of-state on weekends and summer holidays; $2 for ​Maryland vehicles, $4 for out-of-state vehicles on weekdays to enter the picnic areas. Park Passport holders, Universal Disability Pass holders, veterans, active duty military, seniors (with a Golden Age Pass) and children in car seats are free. Payment of the service charge is in cash only​.

Pavilions may be used by permit only. Each pavilion will accommodate approximately 120 to 150 people.
