Quest Information:

W.O.W Pollination! Learn about 3 ways pollen is moved; Wind, Organisms, and Water! Watch it happen all around you while you compare and contrast the methods. Notice the adaptations plants have that allow their method of moving pollen to be successful.

This 1.5 mile loop trail will take you from the main parking lot to the pond (where there is a pit toilet, small pavilion, and picnic tables; perfect spot for a picnic,) then through the meadow, and back to the main parking lot. Leashed pets are welcome, strollers may be difficult on wet days. This quest is accessible 7 days a week, sunrise to sunset, and should take about an hour to complete.

Park Information:
Sassafras Natural Resources Management Area is located along the scenic banks of the Sassafras River and Turner's Creek in Kent County and operated by the Maryland Park Service. The area is noted for spectacular views of the Sassafras River and Chesapeake Bay from the high banks that face toward the South. Hiking, mountain biking and equestrian trail riding are popular activities. Birding enthusiasts will also find a sur​prising mix of songbirds, waterfowl, and raptors on their visit.

From the North: Travel south on Rt. 301. Turn right on Rt. 313 toward Galena. In Galena, turn left on Rt. 213, travel for approximately 2 miles, then turn right on Rt. 298. Travel approximately one mile and turn on Turner's Creek Road. Go approximately one mile to Sassafras, Knock's Folly and Turner's Creek County Park.

From the South: Travel north from Chestertown on Rt. 213. When you reach Kennedyville, turn left on Kennedyville Road. Cross Rt. 298 and go approximately one mile to Sassafras, Knock's Folly and Turner's Creek County Park.

The quest will begin at the main parking lot, look for the Park Quest logo at the trailhead!
