Grab your camera or cell phone! The Sandy Point Bonus Quest is a pollinator and native plant photography competition. Come check out our bright and cheery black-eyed Susans and the important pollinators they support.

What: Pollinator and native plant photography competition

When: *Limited time only*Tuesdays- Fridays, August 16- September 16, 9a.m.- 5.p.m.

Where: South Beach Plaza Pollinator Garden and beach dunes

How: Submit one photo per person using this Google form

Why: It’s fun to appreciate nature!


Quest Materials

Deadlines-
Entries must be submitted by September 23, 2022.
The Bonus Quest competition winner will be announced October 7, 2022.

Prize-
The winner will receive a complimentary Maryland black-eyed Susan ball cap and their photo will be featured in a future Park Quest newsletter.

About Sandy Point State Park
This 786-acre Maryland State Park is located along the northwestern shore of the majestic Chesapeake Bay. The park’s beaches and picnic areas are well known for their breathtaking scenic water views that overlook one of Maryland’s true treasures, the Chesapeake Bay. The park was first opened on June 25, 1952 and has provided its guests with various activities and services ever since. The park also offers multiple ideal locations for bird watching, and small leisure hikes.


Sandy Point Park Quest Visitor Information
Park Hours: The park is open from 7AM to sunset.
Entrance fees: Required to complete Park Quest, $4.00 a person.

Pet policy: Pets are not permitted in the park during this time.
Accessibility: Park Quest is wheelchair and stroller friendly.


Directions to Sandy Point State Park
From the Washington area : Take route 50 east towards Annapolis, stay on route 50 E until you come to edit 32. Take exit 32, and follow the signs into Sandy Point State Park.

From the Baltimore area: Take Route 695 towards Glen Burnie. Take Exit 4 which will be Interstate 97. Follow Interstate 97 until you come to route 50 east. Take route 50 East until you come to Exit 32. Take exit 32 and follow the signs into Sandy Point State Park.

From the Eastern Shore: Take 50 West/ Route 301 South. After you cross the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. Take Exit 32 and follow the signs into Sandy Point State Park.
